Hello,

four weeks ago, we planted a lovely hedge made of thuja trees. They are slowly rooting. Only the short side facing the parking lot looks bad. The few small trees there are no longer lush and are slowly turning brown. This short side had old soil and was very clayey. I excavated the area and filled it with potting soil. Could this be the reason?

How can I counteract this? The small trees were watered daily during the first few weeks.

Use it for treatment? I’ll call the nursery tomorrow... just want to get some suggestions here in case anyone has experienced this before.

In the past, I always sprinkled Epsom salt around the thuja hedge and then watered it well. It has something to do with the pH value, but I haven’t looked into how it works in recent years. You can check it out sometime 😉
