Hello everyone,
We are currently facing the decision of whether to have the builder prepare the house for electric mobility from the start or whether it’s still feasible to do this later on. I have some doubts about achieving the necessary airtightness for a house insulated according to KfW standards if it’s done afterwards. However, the price of 1,375 for the following services gave us pause:
Meter space prepared in the technical center according to VDE AR-N 4101:2015 and §14a EnWG for controllable consumers, including excavation of the electrical trench with dimensions approximately 40cm/80cm (16 inches/31 inches), laying of NYY 5x6 mm² cable from the secondary distribution board to the garage or parking space, laying of network cable from the main connection point (APL) to the garage or parking space, trench backfilling and professional compaction up to the parking space or garage, respectively garage space. Not included: charging station or distribution box.
What do you think: is it better to do it now or is it too expensive and better to add it later in a few years? At the moment, we don’t have or plan to get an electric car. But given our own photovoltaic system and future needs, it’s likely to become relevant sooner or later.

Hello everyone,
We are currently deciding whether to have the developer prepare the house for e-mobility now or if it can still be done well as an upgrade later. I have some doubts about whether it can be made airtight enough afterward in a house insulated according to KfW standards. However, the price of 1,375 for the following services has discouraged us a bit:
Meter space prepared in the technical center according to VDE AR-N 4101:2015 and §14a EnWG for controllable consumers, including excavation of the cable trench approx. 40cm/80cm (16in/31in) wide/deep,
installation of NYY 5x6 mm² cable from sub-distribution to garage or parking space,
installation of network cable from APL position to garage or parking space,
backfilling and proper compaction of the trench up to the parking space or in the garage/garage space.
Excluding: charging station or distribution box.
What do you think—is it better to do it now or is it too expensive and better to do it later after a few years? Currently, there is no electric car ownership planned. However, with our own photovoltaic system and “the future” in mind, it will likely become a relevant topic sooner or later. Upgrading afterward is always more expensive. They have to dig around, everything is already compacted, and so on.
With us, it was similar with the sauna—we had to pull heavy current cables around the house within a matter of days. Had to open up the terrace, dig trenches, etc.

Laying of NYY 5x6 mm² cable from the sub-distribution board to the garage or parking spaceHow far is the location from the sub-distribution board? You might want to consider using a thicker cable depending on the distance. Otherwise, I don’t find the price cheap, but it seems reasonable given the required work. It might also be advisable to have the wallbox installed directly (with subsidy).D

Thanks for the opinions. To keep things simple, we will probably just commission the developer directly.
