We have a pesky young deer visiting regularly. It eats the new trees and bushes or rubs and browses everything bare. In short: we need a wildlife fence.

Now I’m looking for something that still lets the cat get through at the bottom. So a mesh size of about 15cm (6 inches) would be ideal. But I can’t find anything. There’s always that annoying rabbit protection included. Has anyone else had the same issue?

Alright, then I won’t take your comment seriously and officially withdraw my statement against you ✌️

By the way, our neighbor almost caught the deer last week. It somehow slipped behind his fence but couldn’t get back out. He managed to free it, and it sprinted right across the village.

The wildcat, which lives outside the village, wasn’t so lucky. It was found dead this morning on the country road. 🙁

Fence removed, and the deer cannot injure itself.

I like the deer outside my office window, especially in spring with the small fawns.
Every now and then, a fox stops by in the evening when it’s quiet.
What bothers me, however, is when the herd of wild boars runs through.

The deer was back again. 😡
A section of the fence is still unfinished... 😡
A tree is dead. 😡

On the one hand, it’s a shame about the tree – on the other hand, overall, it confirms the woodland quality of your property.

Dig up the dead tree and take it into the forest where the deer come from. A gesture of reconciliation, so to speak.

I was lying in wait in a similar situation and then set off a firecracker for New Year's Eve... the deer was not seen again.

Action successfully completed.

If a cat has no business being outside urban areas, then deer also have no business being outside the forest.
