Good morning,

I have a question, or rather a small problem, about our floor construction at home. We have an old building and removed the old floor along with the old screed to rebuild the floor because the house is uneven. We used Thermotcell Eco 400 insulation screed. It has now been ten days and it is still drying, since the thickness at the highest point was 11 cm (4.3 inches). Shortly after completion, cracks appeared, which according to online sources is normal. However, I find that more and more cracks are forming and the floor suddenly looks very uneven. When I place a very long spirit level on it, it appears straight, but hollow spots have formed underneath the level. Yesterday I bought some loose screed from Fermacell to fill these hollows. What can I do about these cracks? I’m worried the floor might eventually sink. I will upload some pictures. We also levelled part of the room with leveling compound because the lowest point at this exterior wall was almost down to zero and I couldn’t use the Thermotcell screed there.

Have a nice weekend and thank you in advance for your answers.

Best regards, Natascha
