ᐅ Floor screeding contractor leaves piles of sand. Should this be tolerated?

sco0terHello,
after our screed was laid, there is now a relatively large area of sand directly in front of our house entrance, estimated at about 15-20m² (160-215 sq ft). It’s less of a pile and more of a flat surface.
Apparently, our (anhydrite) screed was made using this sand, because it looks sandy as well.
What annoys me:
1. All the sand is now lying on the lava stone we paid a lot for.
2. The sand gets tracked into the house.
3. If it rains, it will get even muddier.
Point 1 annoys me the most because I’m worried the sand might seep down to the basement wall, holding moisture that then presses against the wall. The site manager specifically recommended lava stone to ensure good water drainage.
Questions:
- Should I be concerned about this?
- Why would the workers leave all the sand there? Are they unwilling to remove it?
- Is this normal?
- Could the sand cause problems with moisture on the basement wall underneath?
Thanks!

That is completely normal.
You can identify the houses where the screed has recently been done by the pile of sand in front of the house.
I haven’t seen a single house where the leftover sand was not left behind.
We will now have crushed stone delivered again and spread it over the sand.
