The painter did a sloppy job on the roof overhang. Cracks appeared about a year ago. He came by (the general contractor said dududu), applied some kind of adhesive film, and then painted over it. Now there are isolated cracks again. I know that stress cracks can occur, but these are transverse cracks over the roof overhang, not cracks between the exterior wall and the roof overhang.
We suspect that the painter did not use a mesh (I believe that’s the correct term) to absorb movement before painting originally, but painted directly onto the plaster.
What can be done in this case? It will soon be 5 years, and we are alone responsible if cracks appear.
Could something settle into the roof area, or is it just a cosmetic issue?
