Dear Forum,

I’m not sure if this is the right place, but I want to talk about our heating system. Especially during these very cold days, we notice that the heating never gets properly warm. We have an oil-fired boiler in the basement with a large tank in the garden. The technicians always say everything is fine. We have also bled the radiators ourselves several times. Is it possible to have an expert come and take a look? But who ends up paying for that? Thank you for your answers.

Yes, I also find that frustrating; I don’t like cold in the apartment either. My husband often bleeds the radiators, and that works well. If an expert is brought in, the heating system operator, meaning the property owner, pays for it.

Sometimes our heating doesn’t get quite warm enough either. But I do think the idea of a fireplace is a good one. It really makes the room comfortably warm.
