Hello everyone,

I am currently looking for advice because I am unsure how to proceed regarding my front door in a new build.
It is clear that the door does not fit properly in the frame at the upper left corner. You can press it in with your hand.
Because of this, the door is difficult to open. When turning the key slowly, the lock seems to get stuck somehow.
If you turn the key quickly, the door does open, but you can tell that it is very stiff.

When pressing the upper left corner, you can turn the key easily and without any problem until the door opens.
The craftsman has been here several times but has not found a proper solution and spent hours adjusting it.
The argument used here is that it is normal to first pull the front door and then turn the key.
Apparently, the inspector would see it that way too, saying that 95% of front doors are like this and that it is probably standard.
However, none of our neighbors have such problems.

I (and others) believe that the door frame is crooked, which is why the door does not open properly.
Can you insist on your rights here, or are there tolerances that must be accepted?

Is it worth getting an expert opinion?

Something being slightly "off" is probably always the case. The question is how much it is for you?
And have you ever tried using oils?

One should know — if they want to assess this:
Material of the door?
Size of the door?
Color of the door?
Type of lock (front door lock)?
A picture is helpful.

Why?
A door should always open and close without any problems.

@TE: First, the colleague fiddled around with it multiple times, and when he couldn’t fix it, suddenly it was considered normal.

Have you ever checked it with a spirit level and inspected everything?
But it doesn’t matter. Keep complaining!

By the way: how was it financed, actually?

Of course, there are tolerances, but the door must always function properly.

Details and good photos are extremely helpful. My crystal ball just can’t say anything without some input.

You are of course right. I didn’t provide enough information. The door is anthracite on the outside and white on the inside. It has an automatic locking system with two claws (one at the top and one at the bottom). I also checked with a spirit level. The door is straight, but the frame is slightly crooked at that spot. Even with increased pressure when closing, the door fits loosely. You can also see this from the drill holes.
