ᐅ The building authority rejected the construction application because the house was planned too far back on the lot.

Hello everyone.
The bad luck with our house project just doesn’t stop.
Today, after 3 months, we finally received the notice for a hearing from the building authority.
The house exceeds the rear building line by nearly 2 meters (6.5 feet).
Unfortunately, the woman at the office won’t be back until Thursday.
What options do we have now?
Is it possible to simply move the house forward, or does everything need to be reapplied for?
We are getting married on Thursday, and this really hits us hard.
Best regards

The advice and communication with the planner was terrible. This is the result.

So please don’t always make it seem like it’s our own fault. No, it’s not your fault, and you couldn’t have known all this in advance. How could you, if you’ve never dealt with a building permit / planning permission before? I completely understand that part.
Still, you are at the mercy of the situation, and in the end, it’s always you who have to review, understand, check, approve, and sign off on the plans.
So I don’t quite understand how this was allowed to happen here:

We originally agreed on 8 to 10m (26 to 33 feet) during the conversation. Then she changed it to 13m (43 feet). And you approved the 13m (43 feet)?
It’s not a big deal; you now have the chance to correct the house positioning.
Very frustrating, but apart from losing three months of time, nothing worse happened. A lucky break in misfortune.
I don’t know how or with whom you’re building, but see this incident as a small warning for the rest of the construction process. Detailed drawings will be necessary, otherwise the tradespeople might just build whatever way is easiest for them, not the way you expect. You need to stay on top of things, question everything in good time, and review everything thoroughly. Who knows where your planner may have inserted other unauthorized changes. Check every room and every measurement carefully before you submit anything again.

I'm not being rude. I just don’t accept being wrongly accused. It would be much more elegant to simply ask instead of assuming, wouldn't it?I have to admit, you need to get used to the elephant’s writing style a bit, but the smiley at the end of his post actually indicates it was meant quite differently than how you interpret it. At first glance, I would have seen your exchange more as a humorous back-and-forth with some light teasing. Maybe you could reread it more objectively.By the way, the elephant is a very helpful guy here on the forum.

By the way, the elephant is a very helpful guy here in the forum.I can only confirm that. At first, he got on my nerves. Now, I still don’t like him.
I have only responded somewhat symbolically to the jab that I can’t even look around the corner on the internet and therefore only show images up to the crop line. After all, a homeowners’ forum is neither a finishing school for girls nor a china shop.
Back to the point: if a planner assigns me a 13-meter (43-foot) front yard—that is, takes away a 13-meter (43-foot) backyard—I would still ask them, even during a formal suit fitting, whether they (or whoever came up with that idea) are thinking straight. You really have to be bold to offer your entire plot as a dog toilet 13 meters (43 feet) deep.

We didn’t comment on the 13m (42.7 ft) because it’s fine for us, and I want plenty of space at the front. The plot is long enough to have room to expand at the back. Otherwise, I would have said that 13m is not acceptable. Since we believe an architect knows what they’re doing and understands what is feasible and what isn’t, it was not questioned. The chimney measurement refers to the top of the finished floor (T.O.F.F.).
Update:
After consulting with the building authority, it appears the situation is not hopeless yet.
If we agree to have the house repositioned on the site so that it fits, it can be approved again.
The planner is supposed to find a solution together with her and her colleague.
I’m curious to see how this develops!
Of course, there was no response from the planner when I informed her about this yesterday via email. Unfortunately, she was not reachable by phone.
If she starts procrastinating again and prioritizes other clients, I will push hard on this!
