ᐅ Patio Roof with Multiwall Polycarbonate Sliding Panels

Hello everyone,

My next project is to build a wooden terrace roof.
I am considering creating a roofing system that can be slid open—maybe just individual panels—to allow some heat buildup to escape briefly.
Has anyone ever built such a roof or have specific ideas on this? It would be great to exchange some thoughts.

For example, there are aluminium lean-to canopies with sliding systems available at hardware stores, but these are too simple in design for me. With the wind here, they would immediately let rain through.

I am currently planning my pool house and would also like to build a sliding roof with twin-wall sheets.
Did you build your project without a building permit / planning permission? If yes, how?
