Hello,
I have to ask a (maybe slightly silly) question.
I just received the quote from the window supplier, and they have offered me the same frame for all the floor-to-ceiling windows and the patio door (Salamander BluEvolution 82). The frame height is 73mm (3 inches). There must be a mistake here, right? A threshold height of 7.6cm (3 inches) for the (side) patio door is surely a trip hazard. I could still accept 2–3cm (about 1 inch)...

@Hausbau 55 That’s exactly how I imagined it: a low-profile threshold. You didn’t have any issues with waterproofing, right? At my request, they are even installing a drainage channel. Although it seems to work well for you without one, I felt it was a bit risky. Nowadays, "regular" rain almost doesn’t exist anymore—either it's completely dry or heavy downpours.
I probably wouldn’t have considered the mushroom dowel in the low threshold either. I’ll have to mention that to the site manager.
Thanks to all of you for the many helpful tips.

Nowadays, it feels like there is hardly any "normal" rain anymore. It’s either bone dry or a heavy downpour. That’s definitely nonsense. But one nasty heavy rain causing your living room to flood every 10 years is enough to spoil your mood 😉Hausbau 55 schrieb:
We have premium 2.0 mushroom-head locking hardware on our Brömse windows, also in the low threshold.I need to take a closer look at that today. We also have Brömse windows, doors, and the HSE hardware system. A company from Magdeburg. 😉
