ᐅ Telekom Hybrid or Vodafone Cable – Advantages and Disadvantages for Internet Access

Although I am building in the capital city (yes, really in Berlin itself), there will be no decent DSL available at my construction site (max. 6 Mbit). So far, I have been considering either Vodafone cable (although I haven’t received an offer yet) or Telekom hybrid.
Until now, I was leaning towards cable. But reports about complete outages in the evening and disadvantages due to shared bandwidth are making me reconsider whether I should go with Telekom after all.
What are the pros and cons of these two technologies?
Side question: Other traditional DSL providers like 1&1 or O2 are offering me higher speeds up to 50 Mbit. Is that even possible if Telekom only promises 6 Mbit? As far as I know, they don’t have their own lines but use Telekom’s infrastructure, right?

Holzhäuschen17 Feb 2021 15:43I haven’t read all 4 pages, but I had Vodafone/cable Internet (also in Berlin, Southeast), and I have never experienced such poor Internet in my life.
Constant total failures, then extremely slow speeds, especially around rush hour and peak home Internet usage times (before COVID), it regularly stopped working entirely.
I have never, ever been so frustrated with my Internet and can only advise against it, unless fundamental improvements have been made.

In Berlin, the experiences seem to be rather poor. We are now in Stuttgart, where it used to be Unitymedia. @rick2018 You are also in Baden-Württemberg, right? Maybe there are regional differences? From what I’m reading here, it would almost be too risky for me to rely solely on Vodafone, so that we don’t have to tear everything up again... Has anyone else had experience in Baden-Württemberg?
