Hello,

does anyone here have experience with switchable glass/film or with a “reputable” company?
I’m talking about an opaque glazing that becomes transparent when voltage is applied.
When I search on Google, I only find somewhat questionable websites.

It is intended to serve as privacy screening in the bathroom.

Good luck,

You probably mean electrochromic glass, a neat technology but extremely expensive. If you search for it online, you should find useful information; you just need to be prepared to invest a significant amount of money.

Viebrockhaus installed this in a show home, and the price was so uncomfortably high for our advisor that he only hinted that it was over 4000€ for a bathroom window. But the price might be cheaper if ordered directly from the supplier? We have visited the show home several times over more than three years and have never noticed any weakness in the glass.

The inventor charges $65.00 for 50 x 50 cm (20 x 20 inches) and a switch, so not via Wi-Fi. Therefore, 4000 euros seems to me to be significantly too high ;-)
