I am still considering buying a Swedish stove.

A chimney and everything else would be feasible, and the price is still within budget.

However, I would have to carry the wood up to the second floor. That’s one point that makes me a bit uncertain.
The stove would be for enjoyment only. It is not a necessary source of heat.
Therefore, the stove would be used only occasionally.

I’m unsure whether it might eventually just stand unused and not be used anymore.
One could say that’s ultimately up to me, but maybe some of you have experience with a Swedish stove on the first or second floor?

Is carrying the wood upstairs something you don’t mind, or does it become annoying over time?

I had the same situation back then. Third floor and having to carry the wood upstairs. I have to say, it wasn’t too bad since the wood was only used for heating occasionally on weekends. My advantage was the dog. He had to go out twice every evening, and each time I took a carrying bag full of wood from the outdoor storage upstairs with me. That way, the wood was upstairs faster than you’d think, and it wasn’t even tiring.
