Spitfire00030 May 2024 15:12Hello everyone,
The planning of our single-family house is almost complete, so some detailed questions about the interior finishing are coming up. The building will be traditionally masonry-built, and the ceiling will be concrete. However, during visits to various show homes, we really liked the solid wood ceiling panels, as they perfectly match our taste. I have attached an example photo. Since we are going to install a suspended ceiling anyway, the question arose whether we could do this with appropriate three-layer wood panels to achieve that look. Have any of you had experience with something like this? Several wood suppliers also advertise that these panels are especially suitable for wall and ceiling cladding in interior construction. To achieve a flush appearance, I was thinking of using tongue-and-groove panels and fastening them by drilling at an angle through the groove into the substructure.
What is your opinion on this? Is it feasible and, if so, can it look similar?
Thank you very much!
Robin

Spitfire00030 May 2024 18:14We are actually planning something similar. The ceiling height is intended to be around 2.75m (9 feet), and the design of the windows on the exterior is planned without visible lintels. This is also one of the reasons why we want to install a dropped ceiling.

Spitfire00031 May 2024 08:48Thanks for the tip. This definitely points in the right direction. Is there anything like this with a flush surface as well?
