Hello everyone,

Until now, I have only been a silent reader, but things are getting serious.

So, my first question is how you would assess the following offer for surveying services.

Item 1: Site and elevation plan
Item 2: Site plan for the building permit / planning permission
Item 3: Setting out / staking out
Item 4: Building survey after completion

Total price: €1,700 gross

We are building an urban villa with an attached garage/office extension – approximately 200 m² (2,150 sq ft) of living and usable space, near Dresden.

Thanks and best regards,
Martin

Strangely enough, it is more expensive here in the East; I am at 2400 euros.

Thuringia is also located in the eastern zone.
But I guess it also depends on how many surveyors you contact... they offer roughly the same service at different prices... the free market, after all.

Actually, each federal state has its own fee schedule with fixed rates. As long as the quote does not exceed the fee schedule, there is usually no room for complaints.

However, the staking out is the responsibility of the builder, not the land seller.

I just spoke with our building authority. They are really frustrating me... The survey by the municipality is supposed to take place only after the construction is completed. How am I supposed to build if I don’t officially know where the boundary markers are located??? According to the site plan, the building area consists of 2 land parcels that cover the entire development.

I can’t just build blindly, can I?!
