Hello everyone,
do you have any experience with the approximate additional cost per RC2 window and front door?

Best regards

Hi,

This is very relevant for us right now.
Additional cost for RC2N fittings compared to RC2:

Window installation pressure-resistant, 55 € per window
Glazing 70 € per square meter (sq m)
Bonding 35 € per window

All prices are net plus VAT.
It was not cheap....

This needs to be from RC2 to RC2N, as only RC2 uses special glazing.

hm? RC2N compared to RC2 is correct, right?
RC2 includes laminated safety glass (P4A), bonding, and depending on the case, a stronger frame. Most people understand RC2N as just the fittings themselves. The fittings alone should cost about 60-80 € more per piece.

Are there also lockable window handles available for the fittings?

By fittings, I mean that the installed hardware itself is better covered, and more fittings than usual can be installed.

Regarding the price, I would agree with sla83; I once received information indicating around 75€ (about $80).

RC classes only define how long a window or door must withstand a specific tool. How the manufacturer achieves this is up to them. For our windows, RC2 does not include lockable handles.

What is important is that you receive a proper certificate afterward, showing your window or front door type along with the resistance class. Some manufacturers have their own resistance classes, which are similar to RC2, but you have to trust that.

I consider €75 quite optimistic for RC2. For doors, RC2 costs between €300 and €600, depending on whether glass is installed or not.

Currently, there are subsidies from the KfW for RC2. You usually get almost as much as the additional cost.
