Hi everyone,

we are currently looking for the right surface material for our house entrance, including the stairs and the remaining area in front of the house. This area serves both as a covered seating space and a walkway. To make the space feel a bit more inviting, we are looking for a stone that has a warmer appearance than gray concrete paving.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a suitable stone?

Although the hardware stores are closed, many paving displays are located outdoors and are freely accessible.

Alternatively, you can search online for paving manufacturers in your area. They often have sample surfaces installed as well.

I’m not exactly sure how it’s supposed to look, but if it’s a nice gray stone that would also match the steel and the windows, combined with different sections/heights/planters, such as wooden seating areas, and some color added through plants... I would find something light brown less appealing by comparison.

Integrally colored concrete doesn’t look as good after 5 years as it does in the catalog. The top layer of aggregate on the stone retains its color. Combining two colors looks better.
