My wife and I are building a single-family house ourselves. So far, everything has gone quite well since we have skilled tradespeople and always make sure to gather information carefully. Our basement (fully waterproofed) is planned to be partly used as a hobby room and will therefore have underfloor heating.

The energy consultant recommends a 10-centimeter (4 inches) thick insulation layer for the base slab, on top of which the underfloor heating and screed will be installed.

We want to install the insulation beneath the screed ourselves. The plan includes edge insulation strips and protective foil tabs. Our screed specialist wants us to install an additional moisture barrier film beneath the insulation.

We were thinking of using "Katja," a product designed for cold adhesion. What do you think about it? Is it suitable for this purpose?

According to Knauf, the "Katja Sprint" would likely be suitable. If in doubt, call Knauf.ch and describe the intended application.

I can only confirm this, and we also purchased it from knauf.ch. This waterproofing membrane is coated with photovoltaic material on both sides. It is self-adhesive and easy to work with.

I contacted Knauf, and they also recommended the "Katja Sprint" waterproofing membranes. These membranes are easy to work with, and the installation went quite quickly.

The "Katja Sprint" is a very good membrane and can be installed quickly. So, it is recommended.

Hello,

Thank you for the tip, and I will look into this type of sheet. Next month, we will be installing a new screed, and we are looking for a sheet like this for that purpose.
