ᐅ Suggestions for the positioning of the building structure and basement planning

We are considering a plot of land, but it is unclear where it would be best to position the house with which exterior dimensions in order to avoid losing too much space around it and to keep as much area as possible for a garden.

Furthermore, it is uncertain whether we need to build a basement in general or only if there is a certain difference in elevation.

We have a meeting with a construction company later this week to discuss this, but we would also be interested in opinions from this forum.

What information about the plot is needed in order to receive useful feedback here?

Building boundaries, contour lines?

Please share a site plan (anonymized) showing property boundaries, streets, building setback lines, north direction, etc., along with details about the exact terrain profile. Then perhaps some of the very helpful members here will respond.

Requirements regarding who (people, age) and for what purpose (garage, carport, playground, greenhouse...) as well as information about surrounding buildings and vegetation would also be necessary.
