wulf192Good evening everyone!
I’m currently struggling with the bathroom planning and need to make a decision soon so the project can move forward. I’ve received several proposals from my bathroom designer, but I’m not fully convinced by any of them yet.
For your information: The room measures 3.51 m (11.5 ft) along the window/door wall by 3.75 m (12.3 ft), with no sloped ceiling. The adjacent room visible on the plan is an additional shower bathroom (shower, toilet, washbasin) located under a sloped ceiling.
I’m attaching the options I have so far (sorry that these are not high-quality renderings…). Unfortunately, I cannot upload options 3 and 4 as image files, apologies. Now, I’d really appreciate your opinions, assessments, and advice :-)
Thanks in advance for your time!
Best regards,
wulf192

Hi Andi, thanks for your floor plan! The T-layout was already discussed and was actually my initial approach; I’m attaching a sketch. However, I would have to remove the bidet with this solution. I was also advised that, due to the plumbing arrangement in my case, it might be more cost-effective to swap the washbasin and bathtub (placing the bathtub centrally on the T-wall). This would also give me more natural light at the washbasin from the window.
What has been your experience with this layout so far? Would you do it the same way again? :-) Is the shower partition full height or only partial height to keep the space feeling more open? And is the distance between the washbasin and bathtub sufficient for comfortable movement?
Thanks & best regards, Wulf

Hi,
we still need to build the house, so I can give you more details later... ;-)
However, we currently live in a house that also has a T-shaped bathroom layout. See below. It’s quite a bit smaller and actually works very well. A bit more space between the sink and the bathtub would be nice, which we have planned for now. But basically, it’s already sufficient. A bidet is naturally a bit more complicated with a T-layout, but that was never considered by us anyway.
Based on our experience with the current T-layout, we immediately decided to have the same in the new house.
Best regards,
Andreas

Hello Andi,
the shower in the version you showed seems too small to me.
Even if I might annoy some people with this, I would like to draw your attention to our L-shaped option: https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/badplanung-3-51m-x-3-51m-ideensuche.11596/page-2#post-79700. It provides a significantly larger shower area. We are still absolutely happy with it.

Your L-shaped solution is great, we really liked it! :-)
However, we discarded it again because the wall where the sinks are mounted becomes a few centimeters shorter. This would place the sinks too close together for us. My wife and I prefer the old-fashioned, traditional style with separate sinks. For that, some distance between them is necessary.
Your drawing isn’t fully dimensioned, but estimating from it, your shower is 140 cm (55 inches) deep, which is only 15 cm (6 inches) deeper than ours.
But for the original poster, this might be a good option!

Andreas
