Hello everyone,

is it possible to install electrical components in external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) afterwards?

Specifically, I would like to integrate a flush-mounted video intercom system into our insulation. The power cable is already in place and protrudes from the insulation.

I have found some universal device carriers from Kaiser, but I wonder how to cleanly cut out entire blocks from the insulation.

Ok, perfect. So you also did a subsequent flush-mounted installation in the external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS).

And how did you remove the polystyrene inside? Cutting the edges of the flush-mounted box into the ETICS is logical, but then the whole inside must somehow be broken out as well.

With hammer and chisel!

Joking aside, just do it so that if the part isn’t fully glued, it will fall out on its own.

Cut several small rectangles within the larger rectangle and then carefully break them out using a large screwdriver or cut them out with a utility knife.
