Hello,
I am interested in a plot of land in a mid-sized town that is currently used only as a parking lot. As far as I know, it is owned by a private individual.

My question is how to approach the owner with a purchase inquiry in the most professional way possible.

- Is it better to contact them personally or through a lawyer, tax advisor, notary, real estate agent, bank, or another party?
- Should I first ask whether there is any interest in selling, or send a concrete offer right away?
- Is it better to inquire by phone first (if the number can be found) or only in writing?

I would also welcome any other advice.

Kind regards,
Pommesgabel

If you know exactly who to ask, then do it in person.

1. Call and schedule an appointment for a face-to-face meeting.

2. At the appointment, state your price expectation and describe the project.

3. For many, it’s not about saving the last dollar but about the emotion ... families with children need space ...
