I would like to know what tips you can give me for a construction phase that is as stress-free as possible.
We are considering having the house built as a turnkey project to minimize stress. However, after talking to other homeowners, we have the impression that turnkey does not necessarily mean stress-free. I should also mention that we want to build using solid brick masonry, so not a prefabricated house.
Who has tips on how to build with as little stress as possible?
Thank you & best regards

how to build with as little stress as possible? 1) having built before
2) being able to spend a lot of money on professionals with all-inclusive service packages.
By nature, "stress-free" and "building" are contradictory terms. Immaculate conception only exists in the Bible; in reality, you would have to replace "building" with "buying." That means purchasing a developer-built house once it's finished (which has the downside of no longer being able to influence the process). But the reason for building is to grow through the experience – otherwise, it would only be half the experience.

My tips to minimize stress:
1) Plan a generous financial buffer
2) Choose a construction site as close as possible to your place of residence
3) Purchase everything from a single source, ideally a company that coordinates all aspects
4) Have a whole week of annual leave available

What is stress-free for one person can be a disaster for another.
I think we built without much stress. The only time there was some tension was with the connections.
Otherwise, thoroughly inform yourselves so you know what to expect and avoid any pitfalls. The rest comes with the construction.
Everything else has already been mentioned.

With a lot of luck (unlikely, not guaranteed) or a lot of money.
With money, you can hire (good) professionals who then take on the stress for you.
We have experienced the complete opposite. No expert, no site manager, or similar.
We planned independently with a (related) architect and put in a lot of personal work.
I estimate the savings compared to the “stress-free” approach at around 120,000 EUR.
It was worth it for us. Besides, we believe that we have a different connection to the house. After all, I have handled nearly every building component myself, brick by brick.
