I really like natural stone walls in living spaces, like in these pictures of stone walls:

Modern 3D living room lounge with stone wall, white corner sofa, and pendant lights.

Does anyone have experience with this?
Do you use regular bricks or specially made stone veneer panels?
How do you keep something like this clean (for example, is it also suitable as a backsplash behind a cooktop in the kitchen)?
I’m also interested in the costs for these types of stone walls...
Thanks in advance!

Oh, really... no, I hadn’t assumed that, so it’s definitely worth taking a look

Are there any other practical experiences?

Have you actually never looked through a wallpaper sample book?
See them in person. You can touch them as well. Some suppliers even allow you to take a sample book home so you can hold the patterns against your wall. If the wallpaper is in stock, it’s even a good idea to buy a single roll to test it out on a larger area.
The types of wallpapers you are looking for require some effort to make them look “real.” This is reflected in the price, and you won’t find them online for €10 per roll. Compared to the stone wall you previously planned, however, this is still quite an affordable alternative.

I haven’t needed to look through a wallpaper book before. I’ve always known which wallpaper I wanted. But with stone-effect wallpaper, it definitely makes sense to see it in person. I will only need about 3 to 4 rolls anyway.

In any case, I don’t think I will choose paper wallpaper, as the quality seems to be quite poor.

Try searching for 3D stone-effect non-woven wallpaper. That might be something for you, as it looks better than regular stone wallpapers, at least in my opinion.

Thank you all, I am now getting a sample of an acrylic wallpaper on a non-woven backing sent to me. I will probably choose this wallpaper.

In this case, I do need the non-woven wallpaper adhesive, right?

Also, I would like to apply a primer (better safe than sorry). With so many options available, which primer would be best? :confused A link would be helpful for me.

Wow, 60 posts about wallpaper, respect! ops:

Use wallpaper remover solution to make it easier to take down the wallpaper later, and use paste designed for non-woven (fleece) wallpaper.

Before you ask: Yes, you can apply the paste directly to the wall because non-woven wallpaper does not require soaking time. You can cut the wallpaper with a utility knife, and for smoothing it down, a foam roller works best. Buy a little extra because you will need more due to the pattern.

Here we go 8-)

60 posts might seem like a lot to you; next time I’ll create multiple topics to keep fewer posts per subject. That way, I can at least hope you won’t be too amazed

And many thanks for your tip.
