ᐅ Concrete staircase / traditional wooden staircase – cost comparison

ostseeHello everyone,
Does anyone have experience with the cost comparison between a traditional wooden staircase system and a solid concrete staircase?
We want a quiet staircase that the children can stomp on as much as they like. Achieving this with a wooden staircase is quite difficult, so we are leaning towards a concrete staircase.
The big question is what this would cost compared to a standard staircase. Our builder tends to say, “Oh, a special request, that’s expensive.”
So we would appreciate some more neutral feedback on this topic.
The staircase should have 15 steps and is not a spiral staircase.
Best regards,
Ostsee

Hello, we have also decided on a concrete staircase with beech as the tread material. The risers are to be plastered.
However, ALL the quotes we received are far above what has been mentioned here.
It is a quarter-turn staircase with 15 steps. Without railing or handrail, the additional cost (!) compared to a wood/steel construction ranges from 6,100 euros to 10,800 euros, from the cheapest to the most expensive provider.

Well, I would say that the prices mentioned above mark one of the points where a submitted offer for the contractors starts to become economically viable.
Kind regards

At ebääh, you can get beech steps starting from €35 (about $38) if you provide templates. Our quotes from companies were all around €2500 (about $2700), whether oak or natural stone, including everything.

I’m digging this up again:
We have 4 concrete staircases with 8 steps each, so 32 steps in total. All straight, bordered on both sides by masonry.
Now we’re considering having oak treads made, while the risers would be plastered.
Does anyone have an idea of how much that would roughly cost per step, starting from the concrete staircase? The concrete stairs would first need to be leveled with a leveling compound to the correct height (~2cm (0.8 inches)), then the oak treads (~3cm (1.2 inches)) installed on top.
The cost of the existing concrete staircase doesn’t matter to me since it’s already in place. I’m only interested in the price for the rest. According to the budget, we have about €117 + tax per step available, so just under €140.
Do you think that’s enough, or is it never going to be possible? I’m guessing the latter… :/
The architect has already contacted a carpenter, but the offer has been delayed.
