Hello everyone,

I am looking for expert knowledge regarding exterior walls and insulation.

My problem is that every architect, builder, or developer suggests a different method for the exterior walls and insulation.

Are there magazines, websites, or other resources that provide neutral information about various state-of-the-art options for building a single-family house? For example: double-wall construction with insulation in between; single-wall construction with a thick external insulation layer, which is either plastered and painted or clad with wood; timber houses made from logs, or timber frame construction with different types of internal insulation; prefabricated walls made of masonry or concrete; what are the differences between the various types of bricks, and so on.

Have I expressed myself clearly? I just want to get an overview of the available options, what is considered state of the art, and what the advantages and disadvantages are.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Best regards,
Jörg
