Hello everyone,

I am currently considering how wide a standard garage and the corresponding door should be for the following situation:
A car will be parked in the garage, and it should be easy to get in and out of the car. Next to it, there should also be space for a bicycle or tires.

Is 3 meters (10 feet) internal width enough? The car is a mid-size station wagon.
What are the typical standard dimensions for the garage door in this case?
I want to avoid having to opt for expensive custom sizes.

Thanks in advance!

What, that much? I was expecting something between 10,000 and 15,000.

Almost everything is done by myself and friends who know a bit about it.

It's not going to be just a carport with an adjacent storage room, after all.

Not that it will turn out to be just a carport with an attached storage room.

That’s what we have decided on, and even here you quickly go over 5000€ if you use good quality wood. It goes without saying that the mentioned price includes 100% self-labor. It will be built next summer.
The carport has the advantage of having space on both the left and right sides. We don’t have a fence to the neighbor... and there is a 40cm (16 inch) gravel border to the house... leaving 3.50m (11.5 feet) of parking space under the roof.

That was option 2, a carport with a masonry wall on the left, a storage room behind it, a passage to the garden next to it, and then the house.
