ᐅ Staircase to the attic (or loft)

Hello everyone,
During the construction of our new terraced house, the roof has just been completed. We noticed that the wood where the folding attic ladder will be installed is darkened. Additionally, the surface is no longer smooth. There are clear indentations and dents visible.

Could you please take a look at the photos and provide some information?
