Hello everyone,

since I noticed the topic about stair dimensions in another thread and have been uncertain for a few weeks whether the stair measurements are acceptable, I’m bringing it here for discussion.

My only experience is with the stairs at my parents’ house, which are 2.30m x 1.65m (7 ft 7 in x 5 ft 5 in) and, in my opinion, comfortable to use.

Attached is the image with the measurements provided by the architect. The stairwell dimensions are exactly 2m x 2m (6 ft 7 in x 6 ft 7 in).

What do you think?

5,000 euros have been budgeted for the staircase. Will that be enough (for the last proposal from @Musketier)? So from the basement to the upper floor.

I sent the 2014 quote for our staircase to Zaba. By now, the 5,000 euros have probably already been exceeded for the staircase from the ground floor to the upper floor.
5,000 euros for both staircases seems quite tight to me.

Hello @Zaba12, how did your staircase project turn out in the end? Did the 2x2m (6.5x6.5 ft) space work well for you, and how does the staircase feel in everyday use? Do you perhaps have any pictures of the finished staircase?
We are currently planning a ceiling opening in a 2x2m (6.5x6.5 ft) room and want to install a staircase there.

So, if I ignore the width of the railing, the staircase is about 2m (6.5 feet) wide. At first glance, it doesn’t look uncomfortable.
I can’t see the pictures!?
