Hello everyone,
I’m considering adding a charming small staircase to the attic.
Here are some details:
We built a bungalow (floor plan attached) and currently access the attic (cold roof) through a floor hatch. After about 4 years, I’m getting a bit lazy and increasingly dreaming of having a staircase to go up there.
The staircase would only be used for typical small items (kids’ stuff, paperwork, clothes, bedding). Bulkier items would still be carried up through the hatch.
I’m thinking about installing a small, simple spiral staircase (or a stair shelving unit) in the storage room in the middle (marked in yellow).
Do you think this would be a sensible idea? Roughly speaking, what kind of financial cost should I expect, considering that I would also have to install a door at the top that at least reasonably prevents heat/cold transfer?
