Hello,

our stairwell wall is made of the typical glass blocks that were used in the 1970s. Since mold has developed on the joints between the glass blocks (to varying degrees), I would like to get your advice on the best way to remove it. I am referring to the interior wall in the stairwell, not the exterior facade.

Removing mold from the joints is very labor-intensive and almost impossible. Therefore, I would prefer to simply paint over the joints. Is there a specific product you would recommend for this? The goal is for it to hold for maybe the next 3 to 5 years without the mold coming through again.

If you advise against this: how would you proceed? Should I first use a mold remover and then repaint? Do you have any specific product recommendations (brands) for both steps that I should use? Or do you maybe have better suggestions on how to approach this?

(I know ... ideally it would be best to replace the glass block wall with modern windows ... )

Thank you.

Make a solution of one part Danklorix to five parts water. Brush it onto the mold. It will be completely dead afterwards. Then wash, dry, lay, blow-dry, dye...

Thank you for your suggestion.

After using the bleach cleaner, should everything be washed off again?

Or just let the bleach cleaner dry and paint over it directly?

I think washing it off is necessary. This is a high concentration of chlorine, so the paint might not adhere properly otherwise. Karsten
