it's great that there is a forum like this. Reading many posts has helped me make significant progress in my planning. Thank you. 🙂 I have now registered because I couldn’t find an answer to a question anywhere (or see it asked at all).
Premise for the answer:
No fiddling, no custom modifications or gimmicks like when installing standard dishwashers from other manufacturers.
Question:
Is it necessary to install a countertop on top of a base cabinet (Metod), or could you place another cabinet on top instead—as an alternative to a tall cabinet? Ideally, this would be a narrower one. For example, on a 60cm (24 inch) base cabinet, a 1m (39 inch) high pull-out cabinet with only 40cm (16 inch) width could be placed.
This way, I would have 180cm (71 inch) of base cabinets (three pieces), with 140cm (55 inch) of countertop on top, and a 40cm (16 inch) pull-out cabinet standing above on the far left. Is this construction method stable and feasible?
Thanks in advance.

Peter_F30020 Jan 2017 15:08I suspected as much, since only the metal rod is attached at the front of the base cabinet. :/
Regarding the tall cabinet with drawers:
If I screw several drawers of a tall cabinet to one large front panel, instead of attaching a separate front to each drawer, I would have a pull-out pantry cabinet, right? Or why wouldn’t that work?

Schmidti8220 Jan 2017 16:32You will have problems with your planning because there are no cabinets with a height of 1 meter (3.3 feet) and a depth of 60 centimeters (24 inches).
I would simply recommend using an 80-centimeter (31.5 inches) and a 60-centimeter (24 inches) base cabinet, and a 40-centimeter (16 inches) tall cabinet.
