Hello,

I am currently planning the renovation of my future house, and the first thing I would like to do is replace the front door.

When it comes to windows and doors, I’m quite inexperienced regarding what is considered “good,” so I would appreciate some advice from you.

I have an offer from a local carpenter for a uPVC door with RC2 security, including installation, for just under €3,000.

Today, when I quickly stopped by OBI to pick something up, I noticed they have aesthetically nice front doors, but are they any good?

Specifically, I’m looking at a front door from Splendoor, Berlin model, made of aluminum with RC2 security. Installation is also offered through a partnering company. The price is about half of the carpenter’s offer.

I don’t think I’m allowed to include a link.

Has anyone installed something like this or can recommend one?

Thank you very much!

Best regards

I just have a new RC3/WK3 multipurpose door that requires significant adjustments to the door opening for installation. Also, I have already found another option that fits my wall opening almost plug and play.

This one is a Teckentrup – generally good quality – with a metal frame and all-around locking system, door viewer with cover, handle set, and small parts. A very sturdy piece!

You can install it yourself; instructions are included.
The original price was about 940€.
