Hello everyone,
I have a quick question because I haven’t been able to reach my local chimney specialist.
We are planning to install a stove inside, and next to it there will be a double wall where wood is intended to be stacked. The house has a bay window. In the corner between the bay window and the house wall, the chimney will extend upwards.
Now I have a question:
For walls or combustible materials, I believe the required clearance is 30cm (12 inches), correct? That would correspond to point 2 on the drawing.
But is there also a regulation regarding the clearance for point 1? There is also a rainwater pipe running along the wall.
So, what is the minimum distance the external chimney must maintain from the wall?
Please see the attached drawing.
Thank you.

We had to maintain a distance of 30 cm (12 inches) from each wall. This was also specified in the stove’s instructions. The wall behind the fireplace had to be additionally reinforced/masoned (timber frame prefabricated house).
Additionally, either a non-combustible plate must be placed extending 50 cm (20 inches) in front of the fireplace opening, or a non-combustible flooring material must be used.
But as many have already said: Your building savings contract will tell you all of this... and if it requires 55.73 cm (22 inches), then you need 55.73 cm (22 inches)... Without approval from them, there is no operating permit, and no insurance coverage if something happens 🙂

Did I ever say that I rely solely on my own opinion? No!
The question just came up, and my structural engineer is currently on vacation, so I thought I’d ask here.
But thanks to those who provided constructive help.
