Hello,

my wife and I are building a house. Construction will begin in two weeks.

I would like to have music in the bathroom and on the terrace, and I am currently considering how to implement this, especially what preliminary work might be required from the electrician or others.

We really enjoy listening to music in the bathroom. At the moment, we use an Amazon Echo connected to our Spotify account. However, in the future, I would prefer to avoid using an additional device in the bathroom and instead use discreet built-in ceiling speakers.

In other words, I want to be able to enter the bathroom, take out my phone, select a Spotify playlist, and play it through the speaker(s) installed there.

I am wondering how this works and what I need for it. Unfortunately, I am a complete beginner when it comes to such setups.

The same applies to the terrace. I would like to have a few outdoor speakers there, which I would also like to play via Spotify. Can anyone help me?

Sonos should actually be off-limits by now due to the company’s policy ("Give us all the data we want, or you simply won’t be able to listen to music," or "You update the app now, or you just won’t hear any music").

You’d better just make yourself an aluminum hat...

No idea how that’s supposed to help.

But seriously: I prefer to buy products where I can decide when they fail, not the manufacturer.

Well, then you probably don't have much electronics at home... Unfortunately, that’s the sad reality nowadays. I’m very satisfied with Sonos, even though in terms of sound quality they are far behind Bose, but overall it’s a solid choice!

Bose? Seriously? That's just 80% marketing and 20% quality. If you really care about good sound, go for Nubert, KEF, or similar brands.

Yes, seriously, the SoundTouch from Bose sounds really good compared to Sonos. I have Nubert with Marantz in my living room...
