Hello everyone,
We have a huge house but only a small utility room. Now we really want a free wall downstairs for shelves or a work surface. However, during the detailed planning, a water meter suddenly appeared on the wall, which bothers me a lot. Our architect says it’s not possible to include it with the other appliances up there.
What’s your opinion? Could it be placed behind the washing machine instead? Or are there regulations regarding accessibility or similar?
Best regards, Redsonic

It also needs to be readable without having to move a lot of things around each time. So, you should have good access to the meter. Of course, the specific requirements depend on the local water supplier and their regulations.

- The network connection must be easily accessible both outside and inside the building. It must not be built over or covered with large or expensive plants outside the building, nor encased in walls or obstructed inside the building.
Our connection is located between the heating system and the wall.
It was not approved by the water utility. The installers begrudgingly had to set the meter much higher so that the part can still be replaced with pliers even after several years.
If you feel like moving your washing machine twice a year... I certainly wouldn’t!
However, I made sure to have one wall free. So there is still quite a bit of coordination needed when installing the equipment on site.
