you have a nice forum here. I registered because I need some opinions and advice from experienced users. I’m planning to convert our basement into a music room. I have already ordered appropriate soundproofing mats. I’m wondering how the room climate will be affected if all the walls are covered with these mats. According to our hygrometer, the current indoor humidity during the cold season is around 45-55%, while in September, when we moved in, it was 55-65%. If all the walls (drywall) except the ceiling are covered with the soundproofing mats, how will the room climate change? Will it change at all? Do the mats absorb moisture and then release it back into the room or into the walls? I’m hoping the mats will provide some buffering to prevent moisture from condensing directly on the walls, and in case it does, that it won’t get trapped behind the mats. Has anyone had similar experiences? Do you have any tips or things to consider? Thanks in advance for your information and suggestions.
Regards,
Tim
