ᐅ Sound insulation between vertically separated residential units in solid wood buildings

Here is some information for those interested:

This is how the raw material arrives (by the way, this is the remaining amount 🙂

Construction site: scaffold around a building, large pile of gravel in front.

Then K102 is added in the mixer as a binder.

The result after a few hours:

Interior corner: green walls, brown carpet, exposed pipes and wall opening


Construction corridor with exposed cables, wooden framing and unfinished walls.


The ceilings beneath the sound insulation layer are made of 16cm (6 inches) solid structural timber (glulam).

Now 10 days have passed, and the binder has cured, making the layer solid and walkable. Yesterday and today, the staple boards were installed on top (again as DIY). Doesn’t it almost look finished now? ;-)

Room under construction with drywall partitions, blue edge sealing on the floor, rough-in installations.
