We want to install photovoltaic panels on our terraced house. The technician who inspected our roof said that the maximum system size possible is 5 kWp. Question: Is a storage system worthwhile in this case? The technician says yes, but of course he also wants to sell one... I would appreciate an independent assessment. Thank you!
First, you might want to check out the photovoltaic calculator from Finanztest and experiment with your own data.
It could also be a good idea to use a hybrid inverter and upgrade it later when storage systems become more affordable.
But also tell us what kind of roof you have exactly (shed, gable, flat, orientation, roofing material...). What structures and dimensions are involved? Is there maybe a garden shed or a garage right next to it?

I would first invest the (financial) resources in a thorough plan and clarify whether really no more than 5 kWp can fit on the roof. That’s better than nothing, but for our future needs with a heat pump and electric car, it’s quite small.
What is the roof pitch? Which directions do the roofs face? Is there a garage, carport, or garden shed?Keep in mind that this is a terraced house, right?
