Hello everyone,
During the construction phase, I installed 14 Cat7 network cables (two in each corner of the building, plus two hidden in the roof soffit).

I would like to install 14 network cameras powered via PoE. I am looking for suitable software for this purpose.
A small Mini ITX PC is already installed behind the TV in the kitchen. (When the wall was being built, I created a lintel and reserved a 30cm x 30cm (12in x 12in) opening, finished with a plastered Wedi board.)

Question:
Does anyone have experience with suitable surveillance software that they can recommend?
The cameras should record footage and, if possible, send push notifications to a phone at certain times.

Thanks in advance.

14 cameras is not something that a mini PC in the kitchen or a consumer NAS like Synology could handle. That would require a four-digit budget.

That’s why I wrote “plus variant,” meaning it’s not a toy and can support up to 40 cameras. The critical issue with 14 cameras would be the costly licenses you need to purchase.

In my office, I ran three cameras with continuous recording alongside a file server without any problems—it was stable and reliable.

Although I really wonder what you would do with 14 cameras? Even 5-6 is already quite a lot...

@Gartenfreund: The videos are stored on your own server and not on any cloud service.

Thanks for your feedback.
The 14 cameras result from the building’s construction and the need to eliminate blind spots.
Are the licenses annual or one-time?
Cost is of secondary importance in this approach. The main thing is that I implement it myself. THIS has nothing to do with ego. It’s more about principles.
In about 18 months, I will start building my new single-family house (it will be a bit larger).
I just need the thrill of the challenge.

One-time, about 50 euros per license. The larger the NAS, the more licenses are included.
