Hello everyone,
We are currently working hard on our floor plan and find it difficult to visualize the different versions. Therefore, we would like to recreate the house using visualization software and take a 3D virtual tour through it.
Does anyone have experience with such programs? I have found:
- Plan7Architect
- cadvilla
- Sweethome 3D
- meinHausPlaner
Can you recommend one?
Many thanks and best regards

I found it very helpful for understanding 2D floor plans Do you mean in the sense of "planning in 3D and then 'jumping back' to the floor plan perspective to recognize the space within it"?
I see the problem for people who basically "aren’t good at it" as making too big of a leap: by the time the object becomes "experiencable" in 3D, it is already colorful and furnished—meaning they jump from a "blank sheet" straight to a high level of detail. In other words, a layperson rushes directly into the detailed scale. A professional planner, however, no matter how much experience they have, always starts each project at the preliminary design scale and level of detail.

With technical drawings—because finished floor plans are nothing else—I wouldn’t even bother with my wife, for example. I prefer floor plans in architecture books at roughly a scale of 1:328—with the exception of sanitary fixtures, mostly "bare"—
And: I either have an idea or patience. Actually, scribbling is already too slow for me, but if I had to push a mouse just to jot down a spatial thought, that would almost be torture.

I like to use Sweethome. Although creating and furnishing the floor plan takes some effort, you shouldn’t use the preset dimensions. After adjustments, the furniture fits the size you have or need. We have used the software many times, and it has been very helpful for furnishing.

It’s not even possible to reproduce the shape of our living space. Not to mention the available furnishings. Staircase, stove, shelves, windows, surfaces... none of them even resemble what we have planned.
How is it possible to plan effectively with such limitations, without overlooking good solutions and being creatively restricted?

It might also depend on the type. I have a good spatial imagination, so this kind of visualization is enough for me. Furniture can still be downloaded afterwards. I often just place simple boxes if I want to see how much space is left or how it looks when something is there.
