Hello,

I am facing the decision of whether to install about 10 power outlets or 4 outlets plus power strips in the living room, probably twice. "I would like to be able to use both walls in the living room as TV walls in case of future room rearrangements."

For 20 outlets used only for media purposes, this is a significant additional cost compared to 8 outlets.

The power strips could be placed on the TV stand.

Thank you!

I belong to the group of "final amplifiers of the welding transformer class," who claim to be able to tell by listening whether the preamp and power amp stages compete for load.

In this case, I recommend speakers with a reasonable impedance. Not only do they sound better, but 40 watts per channel are more than enough to (high-quality) become deaf. ;-)

With the money saved, you could have several hundred electrical outlets installed... hmm... whichever way you look at it...

Cable fires often occur due to cables being under continuous full load.

In my experience, cable fires usually happen because connections have come loose or inadequate materials were used—for example, low-quality sockets bought at hardware stores or cheap power supplies from China. But from full load???

If the cable is rated for 16A, it can carry 16A safely when installed properly. It doesn’t matter how long the 16A current flows; otherwise, the circuit breaker will trip.
