Hello everyone,
We are currently in the construction phase of our single-family home. We are actively gathering ideas to make daily life in the new house easier.
So far, we have:
- A laundry chute from the bathroom on the upper floor to the washing machine in the basement
- A platform for the washing machine to allow easy loading and unloading
- Pantry shelving with rotating trays
We have also considered:
- Building a small utility room behind the living room cabinet (sideboard) to house all the TV equipment (satellite box, DVD player, receiver, hard drive, etc.) out of sight
To illustrate, I’m attaching three photos.
Maybe some of you have a nice REALISTIC idea that could be implemented.
Thank you in advance for your ideas!
Best regards,
Slintrebla

Now it’s being praised to the skies without experience – is it okay to question this change of opinion?

It definitely makes sense, but it also costs quite a bit.
I’m not sure if it’s possible to manage without it using some DIY solutions like window frame vents or exhaust systems, but well, we’ll just install the mechanical ventilation system and be happy that we don’t have to air the rooms several times a day and that the laundry dries in no time.
We will also make sure there are enough options for cleaning.
Maybe we should install it ourselves? By the way, how much did you pay, including or excluding the equipment?

Sebastian7922 Nov 2015 10:38Around 7,000-7,500 euros, but I am still receiving a 1,000-euro subsidy from the state.
However, it is also the large system from Helios including the enphalt exchanger with a total of 16 outlets.
I don’t understand how you want to focus on "enough cleaning options" – it rather sounds like hot air to me.

We want to use round, smooth interior pipes instead of (also smooth) flat ducts. I believe the installation is similar to the heating circuit distributor on the upper floor, where an access opening is built in so that if you ever need to clear blockages or clean with a rotating brush, the ducts won’t be too long.
A laundry chute was also very popular with me.
However, we would have had to give up the steam cabin or the armchair in the main bathroom.
My husband was neither happy with the bathroom redesign nor with the costs (we built without doing any work ourselves).
The wall tiles look familiar to me, Kisska.
