ᐅ Smart Home without switches? P.Hue, Home Assistant, Homematic wired IP

Hello,

I’m currently considering the electrical installation in a house with two holiday apartments. KNX is too expensive... I’m thinking about using two control panels to operate the apartments... Roller shutters, lighting, Philips Hue is great because of the colors and the little light accents you can place everywhere...

The idea would be to install a distribution system with Homematic IP Wired... and run Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi... I would use iPads in the apartments to control everything smartly from two locations within the apartments... lighting scenes, roller shutters, heating... by the way, are there smart air conditioners or heaters that can be integrated into the system? ... and Powerline communication (PLCs) in the distribution cabinet...

This is roughly how I imagine it... Has anyone already implemented something similar or have tips, etc.?

Regards, Bampa

What do you mean by a huge room? I'm curious.

Well, "huge" is relative, but for a single-family home, 100m² (1,076 sq ft) is quite large, especially since there are (two) big rooms....

I quickly skimmed through the thread. Nowhere did I see whether the building is new or still under construction? This is crucial.
Unfortunately, the original poster (OP) has very little understanding of all the topics discussed, so they need comprehensive advice. They are unlikely to get that here, as the current wishes and ideas of the OP are "frightening" to the experts here and will probably never be approved (in my opinion). The OP refers to Powerline adapters as “DLAN,” even though they are from the market leader Devolo. These are a no-go in new builds! They cost money to purchase, operate, and interfere with DSL signals. So using them is the worst idea. Just run network cables – problem solved!
This pattern repeats throughout the entire thread... or did I miss something?

My request to the OP:
Please present your project again in a comprehensive and neutral way, including all details! Maybe even add pictures?
Describe your requirements (door opening by code, lighting control, etc.) as thoroughly as possible but without focusing on the technical implementation.

I would actually say DSL is outdated for new builds; fiber optic should be installed instead.

Fortunately, the electrician installs the network cables free of charge 😉

We have 6 network outlets and ended up paying around 1,000 EUR net for them. In the end, though, everything still runs over Wi-Fi... because smartphones and tablets are such a hassle to connect via RJ45, and the daughter doesn’t want a cable on her laptop while in bed either.

Oh, and the router (with 24 ports) located in the utility room, running 24/7, of course came at no cost and doesn’t consume any electricity. Makes perfect sense.

So here we only have switches to turn off the lights or for the central function "Leave Home" and "Night Mode," the rest is handled by the automation, and it works perfectly.

Good morning,
well, I see it a bit differently. Since routers and Devolo now coordinate very well to avoid interference, I have very few concerns. Your prejudices regarding powerline communication (PLC) probably come from the past. Nowadays, there are hardly any issues.
That’s why I’m not very worried about it, and at the moment I’m quite satisfied using it in my own home.
Network and Wi-Fi coverage everywhere I want it…

I’m happy to explain again... so I want to set up the electrical installation centrally, which makes sense since it will be a shell construction. I will install and route the cables and the distribution panel myself inside the house. The central panel will supply two apartments. Everything there will be smart. That’s why I’m focused on home
