Hello,
I’m currently considering the electrical installation in a house with two holiday apartments. KNX is too expensive... I’m thinking about using two control panels to operate the apartments... Roller shutters, lighting, Philips Hue is great because of the colors and the little light accents you can place everywhere...
The idea would be to install a distribution system with Homematic IP Wired... and run Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi... I would use iPads in the apartments to control everything smartly from two locations within the apartments... lighting scenes, roller shutters, heating... by the way, are there smart air conditioners or heaters that can be integrated into the system? ... and Powerline communication (PLCs) in the distribution cabinet...
This is roughly how I imagine it... Has anyone already implemented something similar or have tips, etc.?
Regards, Bampa

Audiobampa2 Apr 2023 09:52@MJunginger Thank you very much, that helps a lot.....
What is still important for me is remote access. I want to monitor how much electricity is being used and whether someone is present.
And if no one is there, to turn the lights off, or heat the room before someone arrives, etc.
Therefore, I need the whole system to be controllable and linkable from outside. How does free@home handle this...?

Audiobampa2 Apr 2023 10:36Dear Rick, I will certainly consider that in due course, but right now the priority is to estimate what is possible and where I will need assistance. To do that, I first need to understand the system in order to assess the effort involved. I would appreciate it if you could respond in a solution-oriented way rather than a critical one... The VPN connection is only useful to me if I want to actively access the system myself... However, if I want to manage this smartly—for example, if a customer makes a booking and schedules access for April 28th from 2 p.m.—I want the front door and the heating system to be informed automatically by the website’s data without any action from me.
What would the solution look like in this case? I would really appreciate if this could be done using Busch-Jaeger!

MJunginger2 Apr 2023 11:10Free@home can be controlled remotely at any time without additional costs. It works very easily via an app.

Audiobampa2 Apr 2023 11:28I would need to ask in more detail... how is the interface with F@H? On the app, is it cloud-based? Does the cloud have an interface? I basically want my booking software or something else to control the app and therefore the apartment...

MJunginger2 Apr 2023 11:51I’m not sure if it’s that simple. However, since the last update, there is an API interface. But there won’t be any ready-made solution for that; it would have to be programmed individually.
