Gooosee15922 Aug 2022 09:15Hello,
We have bought an existing property (a new build was too hard to get in our region).
We acquired a 10-year-old house, actually a semi-detached house, with 150 sqm (1,615 sq ft) plus a basement.
We will take possession of the house at the end of the year and still have quite a bit to do.
We want to retrofit a "smart home" later. Actually, "smart home" is not quite the right term for us; it would be more like remote control.
The following areas should definitely be covered:
Video doorbell: (only a two-wire doorbell cable is available)
Roller shutters that can be switched with small automations (astro function and automatic shading)
Light switches that can be switched
Are there invisible window contacts?
What else can be made switchable with small automations?
Sorry, I’m not very familiar with this area and hope for your help.
Which smart home system would you recommend?
Zigbee, Z-Wave, EnOcean? What do you think about the new open wireless standard Matter?
Matter is supposed to revolutionize wireless smart homes because everything is meant to be compatible (I know this is still coming soon).
What do you think about voice control, for example Alexa, and smart displays like the Echo Show?
Does Alexa, for example, make sense?

Smart displays, for example Echo ShowThis phrasing rings a bell ... @Pacc666, @Pwnage619, @Manatarms123 ... is that you again? What exactly is your problem? How many of you are there? To everyone else: This person asks the same question weekly under different names and is resistant to learning. Do yourselves a favor and don’t reply.
@Mycraft, can something be done about this? This clearly violates the terms of use. Even the smallest link gets removed along with the poster, but reporting this has no effect.

Gooosee15922 Aug 2022 12:50How do you come to the conclusion that I am the one?
I believe 95% of all smart homes in Germany have a smart assistant (Alexa, Google, or Siri).
That’s why it’s not unlikely that similar questions might come up.
I have already read a lot in this forum but couldn’t find answers to all my questions, which is why I started this thread.

Because you are the only one here using the terms "Smart Assistant" and "Smart Display" spelled this way under your nicknames (@Taitv789 probably you as well) . Your writing style, your semi-detached house, and your "small automations" are recognizable, so don’t pretend otherwise.
