ᐅ Smart Home for the Future – What Should Be Installed in Advance?

treepyHello,
as the title suggests: what makes sense to install in advance during a new build if there are no immediate smart home plans?
Or rather, what should be installed prophylactically to save time on this topic? Two CAT7 cables per room, one satellite cable, plus an empty conduit? Or would KNX cables be better?
We are currently in the construction phase and do not have the capacity to dive deeply into this topic right now, especially since many aspects are also a matter of personal preference. Therefore, I would like to lay cables accordingly to address the topic in depth later and avoid not having enough wiring. The range of control options for temperature, blinds, lighting, power, etc., is interesting...
It also makes sense to have an empty conduit for the more distant—still unknown—future to be able to respond accordingly.
Thanks, regards

Although (or maybe because, at some point you want/have to finish :-D) I did the electrical installation myself, I didn’t install any additional empty conduits. I installed dual Cat7 cables and two bus lines, green and purple, for KNX and 1-Wire in (almost) every room. Where needed, I added an extra conduit with coaxial cable. By the door intercom, there’s a third bus line.
What I will ultimately use from this, I don’t know yet. I’ll see when, after moving in, there’s maybe a bit more time to think about it :-)
The goal was to connect various systems via FHEM. Except for KNX, I already tested all of this in the rental apartment (before construction began).
