We have built or had a house built—(move-in 2023)—and throughout the house, there are very ugly, simple, old floor heating controls. I now want to replace them with Meross smart thermostats but found that only two wires run to the controls.

What options do I have?
I’m a bit puzzled because in my office (the heating system is definitely about 20 years old) it was no problem to connect the thermostat.

I don’t understand the problem.

1. Are two pipes one too many, or is one or more missing?
2. If the heating system is properly adjusted, you would more likely turn off unnecessary controls rather than upgrade them.

This would be the smartest solution.
