Hello,
the exterior plaster will be applied to our house soon, and I finally need to address the topic of the door intercom system. After several hours of research, I’m rather confused. Maybe I can gather some tips here.
I’m especially facing limitations with the following "requirements":
I would prefer not to wire the door opener directly to the system/outside but, for example, place it in the utility room in the basement. I don’t feel comfortable knowing that anyone could open the unsecured door at the intercom.
Here are the current "facts"

I would prefer not to wire the door opener directly to the system/outside but, for example, place it in the utility room in the basement. I don’t feel comfortable knowing that anyone could open the unsecured door at the intercom.
Here are the current "facts"
- During the electrical rough-in, I have laid a Cat7 LAN cable to the door – but it can also be replaced or supplemented with any bus cable.
- I exclude WLAN. I am now considering whether to use bus, LAN, or DECT. The system will be connected to a FritzBox 7590.
- An electric door opener is present – it should be connected "securely" (in the basement?)
- A camera is desirable, but it faces directly onto public space and is next to the door. It must therefore either be installed with an angle bracket or have a wide detection area.
- I do not need monitors. There will be a Fritzphone on each floor anyway, which should be used to answer calls. Video can also be transmitted there.
- I need/want the option to answer the door call and open the door remotely via smartphone (for potential package deliveries). Preferably with video transmission via an app. Possibly a keypad at the doorbell would be an option too. I want to be able to change the code at any time.
- The intercom system should be expandable to include IP cameras (this is especially important if no camera is installed).

We don't have much flexibility with the height; it basically comes down to around 1.70/1.80m (5 ft 7 in / 5 ft 11 in). How does it work then when the children or neighbors' kids want to ring the bell?
I’m not making much progress here. I actually don’t want an IP-based solution, so I’m leaning against the DoorBird option. My electrician recommended an Elcom home.audio set (500 EUR) or even home.video set (1500 EUR).
This includes an outdoor station with or without a camera, a transformer, a relay, and an indoor station.
I don’t need the indoor station because connecting directly to the Fritz!Box still seems like the most effective solution, especially when it comes to future expansions.
The system is two-wire, which in my opinion is ideal. It also looks quite sleek, especially in anthracite. Although I do prefer the DoorBird’s appearance!
The outdoor station is also available separately: audio-only for 250 EUR, video for 600 EUR. I could probably connect this directly to the Fritz!Box. However, then the door opener could only be connected directly to the outdoor station, which I don’t want. That’s where the relay comes in, which I believe allows the connection and costs 200 EUR. I can easily add video later via IP through the Fritz!Box.
If the relay isn’t sufficient, there is also an Access Gate relay, but that costs 600 EUR. This allows connections for IP cameras and similar devices. I probably don’t need that, so I hope I can do without it.
In the best case, I have everything I need with:
RER113Y Outdoor station Audio 1/1 Access point 2-wire anthracite/gray matte (250 EUR)
RED011Y Bus line power supply with relay REG (200 EUR)
Eventually, I plan to connect an affordable IP camera outdoors, and then the setup could be complete.
Maybe I’ll need the TJA510 - Access Gate 2-wire/IP interface REG (600 EUR) instead of the relay, but that would significantly increase the cost. It probably wouldn’t offer me anything that the Fritz!Box can’t handle anyway.

So, I just bought a Doorline Pro Exclusive with an additional relay.
The door opener contact can be routed to the basement, and the system is connected directly to the Fritzbox.
It can be configured via Bluetooth.
Cool feature: you can set 1-4 rings on the touch screen AND a code lock. So jogging without keys or similar is possible. Otherwise, they seem to have great support.

But I don’t want to integrate via DECT. As far as I know, that would exclude video anyway?!
Actually, I prefer a simple two-wire bus solution. The Fritz.box does that really well. You just connect the intercom like a phone, and in the Fritz.box, you configure which Fritz.phone should ring. Then you set a different ringtone on that phone, and everything works perfectly. It would be great if you could connect the door opener directly to the Fritz.box as well. But I guess that’s not possible?! So that the Fritz.box would handle the entire control. Technically, that shouldn’t be an issue at all. Thanks for the tip. I was looking for an affordable alternative for two-wire video systems with mobile devices! To illustrate, check out “FRITZ! Talk 25” on YouTube.
